Dr. Shayna Fasken
Dr. Shayna Fasken is a Doctor of Chiropractic in Columbia, MO. She also has post-graduate training in acupuncture and is certified to practice acupuncture in Missouri. She currently runs her own practice in Columbia where she offers chiropractic care, acupuncture, and nutrition counseling. Dr. Fasken works with patients of all ages and stages of life from newborn babies to senior citizens. She is trained in very gentle low-force chiropractic techniques including Logan Basic and Sacro Occipital Technic. She has a special interest in working with pregnant women, and is certified in the Webster Technique which helps align the pelvis throughout pregnancy, allowing the baby room to grow, and to find an optimal position in the womb.
Dr. Fasken began her education at the University of Missouri –Columbia where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in English Literature and a minor in Anthropology and Environmental Studies. She was also a letter winner for the women’s track and cross country team. She then attended Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, MO where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors degree in Life Sciences and a Doctorate in Chiropractic. She is a member of the Missouri State Chiropractors Association and the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.
Because of an ardent love for, and interest in nutrition, Dr. Fasken started a chapter of the Weston A. Price Foundation® in Columbia. The Weston A. Price Foundation® is a national non-profit organization dedicated to teaching accurate nutrition information and putting people in touch with healthy, nutrient dense food sources in their area. The Columbia chapter holds monthly meetings where a variety of health and nutrition topics are discussed as well as frequent opportunities for attendees to meet local farmers and learn about their farms.
